Lift Day 1-27LIFT Leader:

Short Bio: I have four adorable kids, a super rad husband, live next door to my mom, work full time for my dad as a Paralegal, host an allergy-free food and lifestyle blog, volunteer weekly in my children’s co-op elementary school, teach barre and interval in my “free” time, own Ohana Board Shop, a surf and skate shop in Downtown Willow Glen, and teach Barre-Ga: Barre on Standup Paddleboards. I’m a doer, and I like to be busy. The busier I am, the more I accomplish.

Favorite Exercise or Variation: High Curve and Pushups

Something we don’t know about you: I hate wearing jewelry, and I eat out way more than I should admit.

Why do you teach: I want to inspire, encourage, and share my passion for barre fitness. Teaching does not come naturally to me, and I spend a lot of time preparing each week. Many things I do are on autopilot, so writing my classes and changing my playlists keeps me on my toes, motivates me to teach with better flow, and allows me to serve as a great role model for my children who see me work hard for the goals I set for myself.

What was the first song that made you sing out loud in cycle: Lionel Richie. Easy Like Sunday Morning. Seriously. And no, it wasn’t even a Sunday.

Real life mentor: My husband is my number one supporter, encourager, and promoter in everything that I do for myself and that we do for our family. I wish I had as much faith in myself as he has in me. He makes me happy and encourages me to do what I love every single day.

Lift Day 1-57What are you not good at: Anything creative. Just thinking about Pinterest gives me heart palpitations.

What motivates you to do something hard: I love the way it makes me feel when I’m done, especially when I wasn’t sure if I could accomplish it from the start. Natural childbirth comes to mind…and the home birth that pushed my limits in more ways than I could have possibly known. Persevering through the challenges, growing from the changes, and becoming a better person as a result — that’s what keeps me going..

Tip for staying healthy: Homemade everything, especially fermented foods like beet kvaas, sauerkraut, kim chi, kombucha, and raw kefir.

Favorite healthy food item: chia seeds
